What? We Missed This One

Image
Sharon and I have been to Miami, AZ several times.  On this last trip, we decided to Google Earth the area to see if we were missing more abandoned structures.  We were!  We missed an entire street which was known as the Red Light District (previous post) and this abandoned apartment building which was off the main street.  I don't know how we missed this place, but we were so happy to be able to photograph it on our last trip.

Miami AZ's Red Light District

1920's In the early 1900's of Miami, AZ, there was an area known as the Red Light District.  This street had hotels and brothels on each side of the road.  The ladies would take care of the miners after a long days work.  It was a hot area to go for business men and others for several decades until it was permanently shut down.  Today, the street has a few abandoned structures and homes where current residents reside.
