Working on My Crafts

my messy kitchen
This has been a crazy week.  I had plans to do more posts before the week was up, but that didn't happen.  I took my Chihuahua to the vet to get his little heart tested.  He has a murmur which can lead to heart disease.  While waiting for the vet, I got sick and had to reschedule.  He will get checked out next Tuesday.  Also, my two back teeth that needed root canals have been hurting.  I think the one tooth is now an extraction.  It is a total mess.  I have never let my teeth go for so long, but without dental insurance I have not been able to afford the upkeep.

On a positive note, I have started my crafts.  I am experimenting putting my photos on different medias.  I have canvas, wood and various types of cloth materials.  I am keeping the ones that don't turn out so well, and hoping to sell any of the others.  Sharon has lots of found objects (backroads treasures) and will be giving me them to use in my projects.  When I get something done that I am satisfied with, I will note it in a post and put it for sale at my Etsy store.

  1. Oh sis! That's freaking gorgeous!!!! You have captured our crazy desert, its mood, its beauty and its desolation.

Anyone that complains about socialized medicine just needs to look at people not covered. It's a freaking crime and costs the health care system more in the long run. I can't tell you how many people with no health insurance use the ER as a way to get their regular health care. Sweetie, we gotta get those teeth fixed. I don't want my sis suffering.

  2. Some good stuff there.
Must be quite exciting to be "crafty" these days. There are so many more things you can do than just 20 years ago.

I'm thinking of building a 3D printer but I doubt I'll ever get around to it. (Maybe if the Google fairy is good to me.)

  3. Sis, thanks. I love the way the pictures looking through the cracks at the domes to the desert turned out. I will be using them in more projects. You can also tell that I love the bee apartment pictures too. I hate not having dental insurance. Gary is working on getting us some. Meanwhile, I am getting whatever I need done on my teeth that is affordable to keep from losing them all.

Thanks Sucio, I am feeling a bit crafty as of late. I love putting things together and seeing how they turn out. I have many more ideas. Also, I hear the Google fairy is in a good mood. ;-)

  4. Hey Sis-tah! I love the canvas pics! I am in the process of deciding what to do with my photos too. I just picked up a ton of books at the library on digital photography and also how to market your photos. I am chomping at the bit to do some experimenting like you are doing! Hopefully it will be soon and maybe we can exchange ideas! Two brains are better than one!

I hear ya on the dental care. I haven't had insurance since I lost my job and had ZERO time to go when I did! I was working practically 24/7 and when I was off all I wanted to do was sleep! UGH! I got a notice from my dentist and it has been, dare I reveal it, 6 years since I have been! I'm embarrassed! Granted I have strong teeth, but damn Gina! LOL

Well, at least out teeth will fall out together! Yikes!

Keep me posted about your sweet little Chi-chi! I will send good thoughts and lots of prayers!

  5. Tara my sis, I am always looking for different ways to display my photos. I would welcome any suggestions you may have.

My hubs is still working on getting us dental insurance. I hope that works out because my temporary filling just fell out and now I have a big hole in my tooth. I have a feeling that tooth is out of here! As for Booger, I will let you know what I find out on Tuesday.
