These are not old cemeteries with unique headstones and carvings, but is the final resting places for my Dad and Mother-in-Law. I grabbed my new camera and headed out to both cemeteries to take pictures.
This might sound odd; but what a wonderful remembrance; sharing photos of their headstones with the rest of us. No we shall remember them along with you.
Thank you for sharing these. I am quite the cemetery photographer and I love taking photos of old stones, however, in one of my moods I went to the local cemetery and took pics of most of the people I know out there. Plus I went to the old part and took a few there too. Will share one of these days the photos of the ones I loved. Lovely photos- Angie
When it comes to those you love, it doesn't matter if there are big headstones or amazing statues,,, this is the most beautiful cemetery because it is the final resting place of those you love.
Brenda, thanks! I wanted to take some cemetery shots around town and where better to go but to my loved ones graves.
~Onreeone~ Angie, I would love to see those photos. The old cemeteries have the best sculptures and carvings, very unique. I love taking photos of them.
Jessica, you are correct about the headstones. Both of my loved ones are buried in well kept places.....beautiful.
You know Ju, it doesn't matter if they are old or not. They are your family and that in and of itself makes them wonderful! I have a picture of my Paw Paw's (grandfather) marker that I plan on showing myself!
Thanks Tara, you are a sweetie pie. I am still in search of the old AZ cemeteries. If they are out there, and I suspect they are, I will find them. I know that Autumnforest knows where some are that I haven't seen yet. It will be another day trip for us.
That is so beautiful and peaceful. That truly is a resting place. It's good your family is near. Mine is back east but when I go back, I always visit them all spread out around the same mountaintop cemetery. It's funny how sitting there at a family member's headstone you just suddenly feel like they left the seat next to you in the room and they're just in the other room about to come back. It's a weird feeling, but very comforting.
Autumn, it is definitely a nice place to sit and think. My MIL has a nice bench that my FIL wanted so he could sit and spend time near his wife's grave. Both places are beautiful.
