I had this fun idea for us to discuss! I have come across some videos on YouTube of people claiming they have caught a ghost on camera! I will tell you right now that none of these are those stupid videos of something jumping out at you at the end of it. I hate watching a video and being scared s**tless, so I had to watch these videos on silent the first time just to make sure!! So we will call this the first part of a series! I will find some videos, post them on here and I will give my personal opinion if it is fake or real. Then we can discuss the videos through comments! So to quote Heath Ledgers joker from The Dark Knight, "And here, we, GO!"
1. Security Camera Hallway Ghost
OK, so I'm pretty convinced this one is fake. I think this so called "security camera" footage is a little to clear. The image of the supposed ghost looks to me like a woman edited in with some neat fading technique. I say: below the norm. What do you think?
2. Parking Garage Ghost
This is actually quite a famous video. Well it was at one point. This was the famous ghost woman caught on a parking garage security camera. People have analyzed the video a lot and we have many explanations going both ways. Some say it's a person who just walks behind the concrete beam and the distance from the camera just makes it look like a "ghost". Some say it's a rewound tape of a person walking from their car. I've actually always thought this one felt legit. I say: Above the Norm! What do you think?
3. Gas Station Ghost
This one was on the news for a while not to long ago. This is a very recent ghost sighting. An odd blue "blob" like thing was seen floating around a gas station and was caught on camera. I actually don't know where to go with this one. I mean it seems a bit strange for a ghost. It's a hazy, blue blob...not something we typically think of as a ghost. Then again, I've never really seen a legit ghost before, so how should I know?? I do think it is out of the ordinary though. Just don't know what. I say: Slightly Above the Norm. What do you think?
4. Crying Girl Ghost
This video spooked the hell out of me the very first time I saw it. On the youtube page a commenter said that these videos were recently debunked, but I haven't actually seen anything on that. However I do believe it is fake. Because of the reaction of the guy. If I saw that, I would piss my pants, drop the camera and run away screaming at the top of my lungs (but I'm kind of a wuss). I say: Below the Norm. What do you think?
5. The Ghost Car Chase
This is a cool video, that I think is just weird. This was on some police show, and they nicknamed it the ghost car. The cop is chasing the car, which is weaving like crazy, then starts driving normal, then goes back to crazy. Suddenly, the car makes a turn, and the cop turns with it but as the cop turns there is a fence. But somehow the car he is chasing is on the other side. A story came out that said the car was found a few days later in a lake with a skeleton inside and that the car had been missing for years. That story is probably fake. But I think this video is legit! I say: Above the Norm. What do you think?
And that concludes episode one! Stay tuned for me in the future!
Yeah there are some good ones there,I would like to know about the one where the guy shows his closet and it has nothing but food, and he closes it,and you see a womens face come up to the window from inside the closet,if thats real its the best I seen but I know there is a way to fake just about anything.Stop by my paranormal blog sometime maybe we could trade links ghosts2009.blogspot.com Thanks
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you mentioned that clip! I was actually planning on using that one for my next "episode"!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! Feel free to come over and read and comment anytime! I will go go to your blog and I will add you to our bloglist!

I added Mike and I as followers on your blog worldufospace. I hope you become a follower of our blog as well. Looking forward to reading more of your blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you put these videos on for us to comment. I saw a special on the blue blog in the security camera one and they could not debunk it. They just had no answers. I'm not sure about the Crying Girl or the One in the Hallway, they don't look real to me. As for the Ghost Car, it went through a fence without damaging it! Above the Norm for sure.....Julie
This was a great idea! I enjoyed seeing a few I hadn't seen before. The guy that slams the door on the dark shadow--nope. The ghost walking down the hall-totally no. The woman walking in the parking structure--could almost be explained if you knew where the lighting was, but I'll say that comes close to being legit. The blue fuzzy thing is either a piece of yarn or a bug that's very close to the lens creating that look. I've gotten lint on a photo shot one time that was very similar. The car one was may fav! That one actually gave me super chills and I don't get chills easy at all! I'd like to know more about that case, but darnit--that would make a really good scene in a scary movie!
ReplyDeleteThe car one is definitely my favorite of the five as well! I mean I'm sure it could be explained, but it's so darn creepy that I don't care to find an explanation! I think the blue light thing could be debunked with the things you said. I'm still up in the air about that one.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys liked this post! I will be continuing to do this segment in the future!
--Mike--
Yeah! I'm glad you're continuing the segment. I only wish TV would listen to viewers like blogs listen to readers--we'd never have 100+ channels and nothing to watch ever again!
ReplyDeleteLol! Very true!
ReplyDeleteI also don't plan on just putting up ghost videos, I'm going to try to put up other videos of big foot, loch ness, aliens, anything paranormal related for all of us to debate the credibility of!

Mike and Julie thanks so very much for posting these! I had seen some of these in times previous-but had never had an 'expert' opinion on them-I totally agree about crying girl video -that whole vid to me seems staged! I agree with your thoughts on others -there is another 'parking garage' security camera ghost that I saw over a year ago on You tube-never could find it again -it seemed so real to me -but obviously I have no thoughts or means towards debunking anything-in fact i am one of the least 'tech' capable people I know of -I can mess up putting in a lightbulB! If I ever find that other vid i mentioned again I will post it at my place or give the link here-I have been feeling ill lately and just wanted to let all my net friends know I am still around just not feeling so hot-I am way behind on work for my blogs -it helps me so much though to view work of people who I link to do on their blogs-best to the both of you as always and thanks again!
ReplyDeleteHey these were fun to watch. I'm not sure about any of them being legit, but it does make you wonder.
ReplyDeleteI saw the car clip on one of those cop shows. I can't remember what it was called. It is definitely creepy though I'm sure there's a logical explanation for it.
ReplyDeleteI would love to know if anyone is able to dig up more information on car chase scene -i think the story of skeleton is most likely BS-but the video always fascinated me -some would say -o you see the chain link fence bent down for the car and just came back up after it went through" I dont know-if I werent the worst internet searcher in the world I would try to find info on it myself -best to both of you!
ReplyDeleteThe car chase seems to be the most popular video I posted!
ReplyDeleteThere have been some explanations. There is a point where the timestamp skips ahead 3 seconds I believe it goes from 36 seconds to 39 in beat. So it could have been edited.
Also, people have offered the explanation that the fence wasn't securely in the ground and it was just open loosely at the bottom. So when a car hits it, it doesn't break, it just lifts up momentarily. If that was the case, that man or woman probably has a pretty scratched up car!
The skeleton story is probably 100% BS but it was still a fun little story nonetheless.
Of those videos, the only one that probably has any continuous legitimacy is actually the woman in the parking garage. That video has been around for years and years and not a whole lot has been offered to us in terms of a valid reason for it.
Thank you all for your input!!!

The third video, of the Gas station ghost, was proven to be fake. The blue "blob" was shown to be a silverfish or something crawling on the lens of the camera. The reason it is blue is because the wall the camera was mounted on was painted the same blue and with the bright security lights, the color reflected. Look at the reporter in the purple pantsuit outside, when she comes in, you see she is actually wearing bright red. Here's a video showing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlNynxlZflc
